Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Homecoming of the Holy Crown of Hungary

November 1-30, 2018
The Hungarian Cultural Center of New York and the Consulate General of Hungary are co-organizing a series of celebratory events in regard of the 40th Anniversary of the Homecoming of the Holy Crown of Hungary. The Crown and the coronation jewels were brought back to Hungary through the aid of Rabbi Arthur Schneier in 1978. Programs will include the screening of the film ‘In the Footsteps of our Holy Crown and Crowning Treasures’ and the exhibition ‘Coronatus in regem Hungariae’, showcasing copies of Hungarian crowning coins. These events will be complemented by a possible symposium and an event promoting the Hungarian Parliament as a symbol of the country and a touristic destination.

The program is linked to the European Year of Cultural Heritage through significant contribution to presenting innovative models for managing cultural heritage, promoting visibility of institutions and individuals involved in the management of cultural heritage and raising awareness for Europe’s cultural heritage.

Partners: Hungarian Ministry of Human Ressources, Parliament Museum and Archives, Hungarian Tourism Agency, Fortepan
