Joint exhibition „Art and Trade” by Hungarian ceramist János Lipovics and „Sun Path” by Latvian artist Kristine Nuke-Pantelejeva in Athens

János Lipovics creates a unique, archaic and meditative atmosphere with his works which are about the memories of the past, as well as present-day experiences, about beauty and harmony and the need for harmony between soul and thought. The exhibition of the "Days of the Sun" was inaugurated in honour of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Latvian Democratic Republic. The exhibits were inspired by the decorative elements of the Latvian national costume.

János Lipovics creates a unique, archaic and meditative atmosphere with his works which are about the memories of the past, as well as present-day experiences, about beauty and harmony and the need for harmony between soul and thought. His sculptures are metaphoric memorial or totemic figures, bearing complex meanings and resembling exotic and fabulous creatures.
Ceramic as a material and the ceramist as a profession lead to ancient interfaces, both having accompanied the thousands of years of development of mankind. In the ancient homeland of pottery this modern exhibition, albeit accomodating also classical elements could open new chapters in our relations.


On the vernissage which coincides with the International Museum Day the Greek folk dance group ELKELAM will perform Hungarian, Latvian and Greek dances.

In the spirit of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the exhibition of the "Days of the Sun" was inaugurated in honour of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Latvian Democratic Republic. The exhibits were inspired by the decorative elements of the Latvian national costume. The 100-piece exhibition materials, although they don’t take up much space they have a universal aesthetic and artistic significance.
