The Somogyi Library in Szeged joins the events of the The European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 presenting an exhibition of its collection of old and rare books. The foundation collection also stands as a witness to European history and culture, and as such, a tangible asset of local communities. The organisers aim to raise awareness of the universal value of cultural heritage among individuals.
The collection of rare books and manuscripts at the Somogyi Library holds a significant amount of documents relating to architectural and archeological pioneering works, volumes on history of art, culture, and science, making it an invaluable source of information and point of reference of European and Hungarian heritage.
