The Szent István University, Faculty of Landscape Architecture and Urbanism is organising several programmes in the European Year of Cultural Heritage, including conferences, exhibitions, workshops and research programmes in order to present and develop our garden heritage.

Interpret Europe - Heritage and Identity international conference in Kőszeg

March 23-26, 2018
This year's conference of Interpret Europe under the theme of ‘Heritage and Identity’ will take place in Kőszeg between 23rd and 26th March 2018 organised by the Hungarian Association of Cultural Heritage Managers (KÖME), the Interpret Europe and the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg.

International Day for Monuments and Sites

The core event of the International Day for Monuments and Sites in Hungary dedicated to the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018: „Shared Heritage – Shared Responsibility”, takes place on 18th April, 2018 in Szentendre, Hungary.

„Managment, development and promotion of garden heritage in practice”

April 19-21, 2018
The conference is made up of two lecture days including 11 French and 4 Hungarian presentations plus a day long excursion visiting 3 historic gardens (Szarvas, Tiszakürt, Szabadkígyós) in South Hungary. The topics of the conference are management plans, cut and preservation of tree heritage, training professionals, garden tourism, communication and marketing tools, public awareness, heritage protection, legislation.

"Resilient Cultural Heritage and Communities in Europe" - REACH Opening Conference

The opening conference of the REACH project will be organized by ELTE University, Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem on the 10th and 11th of May 2018 in Budapest, kindly hosted by the Hungarian National Museum.

The Hungarian National Committee of ICOMOS has regarded as its most important task to contribute to the further education of the professionals dealing with monument protection and to disseminate up-to-date knowledge among them. In the realization of the above mentioned objectives, the András Román Summer University on Monument Protection is an outstandingly important and both nationally and internationally recognized and acknowledged element. This accredited professional further education course and international forum is organized 48th time this year.

XIV. International Limes Meeting

This year the International Limes Meeting is going to be organized for the 14th time. The professional program of the meeting facilitates the preservation of archaeological, cultural and natural heritage of our country for the students by supporting the Roman Limes in becoming a World Heritage site.

11th ’Save the Castle Week’

July 30 - August 4, 2018
The aim of the excavation in Szádvár started in 2006 is to clarify the onetime layout of Szádvár castle, to prepare for the conservation works, and to explore the material culture of the past times. During the 11th ’Save the Castle Week’ under the control of archaeologists anyone can participate in this project, who wants to contribute to the preservation of Szádvár and has the desire for treasure hunting.

From research to presentation: Archaeological Camp Hungary 2018

Kulturális Szemle (Cultural Review) is a journal that publishes scientific papers related to the Carpathian Basin and/or Hungarian cultural values, traditions, and innovations published in Hungarian. The NMI Institute for Culture Nonprofit Ltd. is preparing a thematic issue in the fall of 2018, which will gather the works of experienced and junior Hungarian and international researchers about cultural heritage.

"Archaeological heritage in Hungary 1998–2018" conference
